On Thursday, December 6, 2018, J.Lodge was recognized with Alabama’s Statewide Governor’s Committee Award 2018 for Large Business Employer of the Year. Alabama Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities presents this award each year to a large business that has shown outstanding outreach, initiative, and performance in employing people with disabilities.

Alabama Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities is a program of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services (ADRS). This year, they hosted 14 events throughout the month of October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month, to recognize disabled individuals in the workforce and the organizations that employ them. 151 awards were presented at these celebrations, with local winners competing for one of 12 awards presented at a special event in December.

This year’s special event was hosted at the AL Capitol building and awards were presented by Governor of Alabama Kay Ivey. “Each of us works to provide for our families, to make a difference, and to do what we love. Individuals with disabilities are no different,” said Ivey.

J.Lodge was recognized for its recruitment and hiring process, accommodations made for employees with disabilities, and partnership with ADRS.
